Overview

Under direction of the HR Business Partner, the Human Resources Generalist is responsible for compliance activities and projects as well as providing additional support for investigations, Team Member complaints, property engagement and morale, and human resource projects. The HR Generalist is expected to conduct themselves in a manner which demonstrates initiative, professionalism, personal awareness, integrity, and exercises confidentiality in the appropriate areas of his/her performance.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for compliance processes and record maintenance, including attendance tracking and tracing, and documentation and activities specific to HR.
  • Guides and advises supervisors and managers on correct administrative processes for Team Members, and advises management team in regard to optimum administration of general policies and procedures.
  • Assists with Engagement Committee activities; coordinates and compiles event costs.
  • Along with HR Business Partner, conducts exit interviews and analyzes data and makes recommendations to the management team for corrective action and continuous improvement.
  • Assists HR Business Partner to develop department goals, objectives, and systems.
  • Takes the lead on assigned projects, collaborating with the HR team and property operators to build templates or other tools for process improvement, e.g. structured interview templates and Hiring Manager training.
  • Under the guidance of the HR Business Partner, assists as needed with investigations or Team Member complaints and follow up responses.
  • Assists with unemployment claims responses and attends unemployment appeal hearings.
  • Performs other duties as required and assigned.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel crouch or crawl; talk, and hear. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1-year direct experience in Human Resources or other administrative field.
  • Knowledge of the basic principles and practices of human resources, employment law and employment related compliance.
  • Knowledge of the organization and operation of administrative programs.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with department managers, Team Members, and the general public.
  • Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form.
  • Must be computer proficient, strong knowledge of MS Office products.
  • Displays original thinking and creativity.
  • Meets challenges with resourcefulness.
